Summer has been good to us. So far filled with swim lessons, house painting, self discovery, night time boat rides, anniversaries (8 yrs… woohoo), AMAZING cuddles, and ice creams… lots and LOTS of ice cream >.<

My little man is officially not a baby anymore…. technically. We had a fun little get together for the little dude. Pretty casual, but everyone had a good time. Water table, water balloons, story time, music, etc. Ya know, toddler stuff. Funny enough Sean, like his father, preferred to just snack on his food and hide in one of the bedrooms for some peace and quiet lol. But once things calmed down he came out of his shell and had a good time.

Sean baby, you love to climb anything, you love to jump in place, first thing in the morning you call for you daaheeeeh (daddy). You like to say beeedoh like a minion, you like to say “car beep beep”  and you have the sweetest little jibber jabber a mama could hope for. You give the best…cuddles….evaaar. I’m looking forward to hearing you speak more baby. I can’t wait for the day when you look at me and tell your mama you love her. Happy birthday my little love. SEE SEANS’ FIRST BIRTHDAY


Well it’s still July, soooo HAPPY 19TH! lol. Here’s a few moments of our 4th. We went to the lake house and Samantha had one of her cousins come out. they are only about a year apart so they were two sweet little peas in a pod. Chit chattering, pretending, squealing  and just a big ball of wonderful girly bliss. I love those two. I love our family. When I stop and take my mind off the things I’m usually  tied up in, I soak up these kinds of moments and it fills me up until I start to spill over (sometimes with showers of tears). These moments are fleeting.

Well Hello there! Life has been keeping me busy. Sean is turning two at the end of this month so needless to say, I’ve had my hands full with the two of them right now. So much so, Brad was kind enough to let me have a weekend to myself with some of my family. My Aunt throws some of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. This particular vacation was staying on a beach house on the water and visiting all of Pismo Beach’s wine country. For her birthday she wanted to have all her family and friends to join her in her happy place. We were all happy to be there for her and have a taste of her little piece of heaven she’s always talked about when it comes to Pismo Beach. It was just what the Dr. ordere for this mama. I soaked up rays, painted my nails, got dolled up and ate, drank and was very merry. I also got to play with my camera without juggling with my toddlers while finding the perfect light settings lol. All the men on my husbands side of the family LOVE kielbasa and for the most part the ladies can take it or leave it. It’s usually the meal of choice on their birthdays and fathers day dinners. Brad has a few things he’s wanted me to make at home that I tend to shay away from. Kielbasa, corned beef and cabbage, and anything with brussel sprouts. I know, he’s neglected. I actually felt kinda bad about it and figured I’d try and do my own spin on a kielbasa recipe and I have to say, I’m really pleased how it turned out! Super easy and all the ingredients keep for a long time in the fridge so it’s a great meal for a time pinch if you have unexpected guests over.


1 package of Kielbasa cut in diagonal slices

1/2 an onion. I like sweet or brown onions

5 yukon gold potatoes. Skin on. Cut into half inch slices

Roughly 3 to 4 tables spoons of olive oil

1 cup of freshly grated white cheddar or gruyere cheese

1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesan

(optional) 2 Peppers of your liking. I like red, orange, or yellow bell peppers. Cut up into small chunks

(optional) seasoning for the potatoes and onions. I prefer Santa Maria or Lawry’s seasoning.


Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

Place all the cut meat and vegetables onto a greased cookie sheet. Drizzle to taste the olive oil over the food and using your hands massage the oil and food making sure everything is evenly coated. If you prefer more seasoning then very lightly sprinkle your seasoning evenly over the top. Kielbasa is very salty so if you do decide to season do NOT over season. I prefer not adding extra seasoning. Place the cookie sheet in the oven for 35-45 min checking to see if the potatoes are cooked all the way through. Once the potatoes are cooked, pull out the cookie sheet and sprinkle both the the white cheddar or gruyere and the parmasen on top of the kielbasa, potatoes, and onions evenly and pop back in the oven until the cheese is melted. Let stand for a few minutes before serving. Roughly 4 servings.



So we are full steam ahead in homeschool. Thankfully the content is somewhat familiar to Samantha due to her ipad apps she’s played with, but now she gets to sit down and learn how to follow instructions from an adult and hopefully learn new things to challenge her little mind and have fun along the way. I’ve been enjoying myself prepping for her school days. The laminator is my new favorite toy. Anything that can be laminated…. I attack. A friend recommended a blog called Confessions of a Homeschooler that provides the curriculum for pre K. The website allows for all documents to be downloaded so you can print them out yourself  for free or you can buy her CD for $15 for more convenience and send them to Kinkos to get printed (which is what I did). I’m using her Letter of the Week Pre-K edition. There are a few things I may wait on since Samantha is a little young for pre-k, but for the most part she’s done really well with everything that I’ve given her. I’m so happy I have the opportunity to stay home with this little one watch her learn and develop right under my nose.


With family visiting us, a goodbye party we hosted for some friends, and the beginning of Spring, we’ve found ourselves spending more time outside lately. We’ve finally had the beloved rain we’ve been desiring for, but on those dry days we’ve been sweeping, and tending to the yard here and there prepping for many outdoor summer days. It’s nice to sit on clean patio furniture and dream about all the fun projects we’ll take on and enjoy the small baby steps we’ve taken with both the inside and outside of the house. Samantha loves that the lemon tree is down on her level so she can pick the fruit. We plan on many fun days of making lemonade together. Our pug seems to be soaking up spring too.
