52 weeks is a series (challenge) where I visit a different place in Silicon Valley each week. I’ll give a detailed review and recommendations on what to do when visiting a location. There may be some San Francisco entries too since most people who live in the valley make trips up to the city often. I’ll be targeting places that are good for date nights and family outings with the occasional place for friends to hang out and even solo excursions. The format will be in a who, what, when, where, and why format with my own experience summarized.
When I first moved to Silicon Valley we knew no one and were unfamiliar with the area. We weren’t comfortable with babysitters yet and the few times we had family visit, I scrambled to search on Yelp for neat places to go on a date night. I never really found anything that excited me. It wasn’t until we lived here for over a year and made friends that we started to find those “secret spots” and other neat places that made us feel more at home. Most people I meet in Silicon Valley are not locals. A lot of them have moved here for a tech job. I would have LOVED some sort of resource to better explore the area.
I hope to give back to my community who has welcomed me. I really love Silicon Valley and want to share its fruits with anyone interested in exploring!
