Is this real? No really is it?? IS MY BLOG ACTUALLY LIVE AND I’M SHARING IT WITH YOU??? I can’t even believe it! November people… working on it since November! I have to give credit to my husband. That guy must really love me. He’s my hero. I designed almost everything myself in photoshop (which is the fun part), but he got it all up on the site and did all my annoying funky coding requests. He even made it look pretty cool on mobile too. I also want to thank Oana Befort. She’s the lovely artist behind some of my blog elements. She designed my chalkboard blog title header and also the social network sharing icons at the bottom of the blog posts. I highly recommend her.
A little on my blog direction…
A while back I saw a quote on pinterest that originally came from Forbes saying, “People only take you as seriously as you take yourself”. I’ve been keeping this quote in my back pocket in regards to my blogging and I’ve noticed a change in myself. I’ve put more effort into my photos, I’ve been exploring fun locations in my area, and I’ve been looking for a way to give back to my community. Not only my local community, but to my blog community too. I want this to be a place my kids can relive my experience raising them. That is my main goal and my future hope for my family. But I’ve decided to add a “present” goal for my blog.
One fact I’ve learned about myself through blogging is I consistently write about big and small cities/downtowns to visit with family. These are some of my more fun posts to write. So I thought to myself, why not use this to give back to my community? I have pin boards for local spots when other bloggers share their favorite places, maybe others will benefit from my explorations too! I’d also have a blast doing it! Whether it’s a girl’s night out, a hot date with your man, or a family outing I always appreciate a genuine review.
So there you go. A Girl In Transit will continue to be my documentary on my life’s transitions, but will also be a place for locals and visitors to (currently) explore the Bay Area.
Cheers to new beginnings!
*On a technical side note. I am aware there are a few things that need to be tweaked on the site, but I felt it was up and running enough to start using. Your patience is very much appreciated as I fine tune things here on the blog =)
