Well, this year for Halloween the DSLR camera was shelved. I was lucky I got what pictures I did with my iPhone. To be perfectly honest, the one of Sean in his banana outfit was taken a couple weeks ago when we went to a party. I was hoping to make Brad and I Mr. & Mrs. Pacman so the kids could be the fruit that we eat, but alas it was not meant to be. So we had a Strawberry and Banana instead. Samantha was ready to get her costume off and dig into her candy which explains her crazy picture rushing in through the door.

The whole day and (most) of the evening I really do want to cherish in my memory. I actually laid in bed this morning remembering fondly our Halloween night because of the fun we had. During the day Samantha and I made spooky eyes to hide in our bushes when it got dark, played with battery candles, she “helped” me carve a little house jack-o-lantern (but wanted nothing to do with the pumpkin guts), and we just soaked up the wonderful gloomy weather. I went all out and decorated the front porch with our glow pumpkins, webs, silly signs, and even strobe and black lights! Samantha got SO into trick or treating. We’ve been watching a lot of It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown so Samantha kept saying “it’s Hol-ween” and “trck cheet”. She would skip/run and let out a little girl cry of excitement that is music to our ears (even if it’s borderline about to burst our ear drums)

The night ended with popcorn, candy, and gold fish crackers. Samantha helped me pass out candy to the older trick or treaters, and we for the last time (ok maybe we watched it this morning once too) watched It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Now we start watching the Thanksgiving edition of Charlie Brown. Poor Sean, he pretty much got lugged around wearing a big yellow fleece outfit. But he was in good spirits for the most part and seemed happy to tag along. Next year will be so much fun. Not only will we re-live what we had this year with Sean, but Samantha will be a year older and understand the concept even more. I can’t wait!

I leave you with a video of Samantha trick or treating for the first time =) Oh, and our costumes from last year that were seriously the best ever.
