I know this is a week late, but I realized that I hadn’t seen any live footage of the shuttles’ last flight so I did a quick youtube search. SO INSPIRING! I don’t even know why. Maybe it’s because it’s a little part of history being made and that’s pretty neat. Maybe it’s because it’s not everyday we see a shuttle piggy back riding on an air plane. Whatever the reason it was a site to see.

Funny enough I didn’t even realize that it was happening until I checked all my social networks that morning and read all the posts people had written. What’s even funnier is right before Samantha’s nap (which is around 10am) we heard a really loud plane go by. Samantha loves to see the planes fly over so we looked outside. We totally saw it, but didn’t realize that was what we were looking at! I remember thinking there were a lot of wings on that plane lol. It flew directly over us so I didn’t really get a profile view. Then when I looked up the shuttle’s route and the timing of when it was going to be in the bay area, I knew that’s what we saw! We saw history live in action! Cool!

I’m glad that you got to see it, even if you didn’t realize it at the time! It’s gonna be so great to be able to share that piece of history with your daughter when she’s older :)

  2. I feel so lucky to have seen this with my family! It was a awesome experience. Very cool it went right over your home!

That’s so cool you guys got to see it at Disneyland. I bet that was just so awesome. Even with the crowds. I bet they all cheered.
