So in my search for a birthday party venue I looked at many many places and hit a lot of dead ends. I finally narrowed it down to two and decided to go with the George Key Ranch. The runner up was The Heritage Museum. I really wanted to share some info on The Heritage Museum because it’s so cute and I really do love it. Some natives in this area may have done field trips when they were in grade school to go in the Kelloge house. It’s one of those places where you get to dress up in the 1800′s, make homemade butter, do laundry in a wash tub, etc. Well they also host weddings and b-day parties and it’s GORGEOUS!!!! A part of me still wishes we went with this choice, but there were to many things that were against it. The price, no shade, a lot farther from my house, and it’s surrounding neighborhood isn’t the greatest (not that that’s a deal breaker, but it doesn’t help either). It’s too lovely not to share with you all. I’ve been watching a lot of classic movies lately and this one makes me think of the house in “Meet me in St. Louis”.

The lovely gated entrance
This is the house right after you enter thru those gates!!!

  1. Wow. You’re completely right about the Meet me in St. Louis house. One of our family’s favorites to watch around Christmas, by the way:)

At least you have Samantha’s wedding location already chosen!

  3. This place is gorgeous!!! You have a lucky baby! :)

  4. Hi! Thanks for commenting on my blog! I do remember meeting you and your cutie at the Ferch’s party the other month. I wanted to say hi at church but we usually bolt out of there to get Sisi home for her nap :) I DID go to Elmo, I graduated in 2001. What year were you? Were you in any clubs/sports that I would recognize you from?

Also, thanks for this post- I took a field trip there in 3rd grade and remember loving it. I wanted to live there so badly. I’ve always wondered where that place is- now I know!

I’m on the fence about throwing Sisi a 1 year party. I’m not much of a party person, but I like what you said about it being more of a thank you to the loved ones for their support. That gives me a bit more motivation to put something together.

    Ok, done!

see you at church! we should definitely set up a play date!
