First time experiences don’t come as often now that Brad and I have been married for 5 years (5 yrs tomorrow) and been together for 9 years. Well believe it or not we’ve never been to Knott’s Berry Farm together. A few months ago we sat in on one of those sales things where they try to get you to buy a time share and if you can hold out and not buy anything you win a bunch of stuff. We held our ground and walked out with a Catalina trip, a wine tasting trip, 4 tickets to Knott’s, and 4 Angels game tickets. Not too shabby right? So we went to Knott’s yesterday and it was so fun! Brad’s such an adrenaline junky for those rides plus he’s been wanting to spend a little time with just me. He took the whole day off and we had almost 10 hours to ourselves. 5 hours at Knott’s, 2 just hanging out and 3 watching a movie (Transformers…. it was ok). I’m so glad Brad really made the effort to have this day. So many times you hear of couples distancing themselves because the mothers are so close to the babies and the poor husbands get a bit neglected. Then one day when the kids are grown up and out of the house and it’s just the two of you again, you have to re-learn how to be a couple. I don’t want that at all. I love my hub so much and I want to make a conscious effort for us to have our time together. We love our sweet honey and it’s such an amazing gift to share with one another, but we need our time too. Oh man was that maternal instinct kicking in though. That is a LONG TIME to be away from my baby. Especially since she’s practically attached to my hip all the time. I missed her so much. I don’t know how working mom’s do it.

So it was such a fun day. We ate boysenberry funnel cake, recounted memories of our childhood at Knott’s, imagined what we’d take Samantha on when she gets older, and oh might I add I went on the FASTEST RIDE EVER with my husband. Like 0-80 in 2 seconds fast… not even kidding!  Yes I definitely love him. Especially since I DON’T love roller coasters. I asked him from 1-10 what it was 10 being the highest and he actually said 10!!! The adrenaline junkie said 10! I WENT ON A 10! I actually liked it too =) The picture below is us on that ride and it pretty much sums up a lot of what goes on in life with us lol.

This was the ride I went on. I was in the first row too!
First row on the far left you can see Brad’s feet.

Happy Anniversary! I’m so glad you had a fun time together. We love Knotts too…Camp Snoopy is great for our kids’ ages. And it’s so much less expensive than Disneyland. We have bought passes, but we probably will one of these days (when we don’t have passes to something ELSE!)
