So my mother came out to visit during spring break and helped me put together a basic applique pattern to make a cute quilted runner. The kind of thing you would bring out if you had some ladies over for tea or something. I’ve never had an interest in quilts until recently. Maybe it’s because of the more modern fabrics and designs. Quilts always seemed so log cabin-ish to me so it was boring. Not anymore! Below are a few that caught my eye. Hopefully I’ll be able to post the runner I’ll make sometime soon for you all to see =)

How cool is that first one with the books?! Happy sewing! (I’m in a quilting bee with 12 other girls and I love it.)

First off, thank you for stopping by to visit my blog. You are officially “the first” and I hope not the last.

This is such a powerful entry for me because before my wife was in the grasps of her illness she sewed, and sewed, and sewed. She was/is an artist and fabric was her canvas. Those beautiful quilts you shared bring back such vivid memories of my beloved’s work.Thank you for sharing and triggering those treasures in my memory-banks.

  8. I love your quilt picks. I haven’t always been a quilt fan either but now that there are modern designs I can’t get enough of them.
