I have a blog? Hmmm you know, it rings a bell, but it’s not coming to my mind.[thinking] Oh wait!!! You mean that thing I would put pictures, music, and I would jibber jabber on forever ago? Oh ya!

Ok, no excuses, lets just pick up where we left off LOL. Well since we skipped Christmas and New Years, I’ll just give you a short summary. Christmas was pretty much the same as always. I did a lot of baking. Made my first batch of red velvet whoopie pies (picture included). Brad and I gave our gifts to each other super early before Christmas as always, but whatever. My gift was of course our pup Daphne, and Brad went ahead and got himself a semi-automatic shot gun. I think it’s a Mossburg? I may have spelled that wrong. So I got my baby and he got his LOL. After Christmas we went to Ohio with some fun in the snow to visit some friends who live out there. It was such a great trip for Brad and I. Most people don’t get excited about Ohio, but we stayed in a beautiful house and woke up to snow outside our window almost every morning. We just stayed indoors and played board games and played around. We get SO busy that we never get an opportunity to do that sort of thing so it was so wonderful for us. If any of you have seen the newer movie Little Women with Wynonna Ryder, any winter scene in that movie totally brings me back to this trip. Snow if very magical.

We’ve had other things go on, but I’m not in the mood to have a long blog. It’s long enough already LOL. I’ll try to keep the entries coming.

On a Bible note, I’m going through James and Deuteronomy right now. The James is actually a study I’m doing with a few girls right now. My mother-in-law recommended James to me a couple years ago and really comforted me at that time. It’s nice going through it right now again. I think the verse that really stands out a lot to me is James 1: 13-15.

13Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15Then desire(X) when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and(Y) sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

It’s easy to frequently ask God for “blessings” (our desires) and if we don’t get them, then sin really starts to set in sometimes. Learning and realizing this is what taught be to be content. It was like a light bulb. It’s not about me, it’s about God no matter what circumstance or situation I’m in. It doesn’t mean I can’t come to God and ask him for things, but if it doesn’t go my way, I need to rejoice in God’s wisdom and his plan for me instead of being discontent.

Ok, I”m going to bed. Thanks everyone!

Cheers,

Sarah
