I think it is ALMOST safe to say I am finally organized. I say “almost” because I have 1 box of papers that need to be filed away. Filing reminds me of my last office job so for that reason I’m kind of dragging my feet. But once I do the filing it WILL be safe to say I am officially organized. After moving a couple times and working for a lady who is really organized (I’m a nanny and the lady I work for has a perfectly organized and spotless house) I’ve started to get in a routine of making a place for everything and keeping things in their places. I’m working on preventative care so that I don’t build up a huge mess and then spend 3 hours just tidying up let alone the deep cleaning. So far I’ve kept everything tidy and in their places for over 2 weeks straight and it’s been really easy! It’s actually kind of fun. What’s nice is when we finally get a house, I won’t have to worry about organizing too much because I’ve already done most of it (most of our stuff is boxes away in the attic right now).
My friend Delia has said a couple times that she considers God her boss and he’s watching at all times. This is very true. This helps motivate her to maintain her routine of taking care of her house and family. I loved that description of God being her boss who’s watching her at all times. I also try to remind myself of the Proverbs 31 woman where she’s never idle….
“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
My other friend Christine has mentioned in bible study that we should do all things to the glory of God, even when it comes to scrubbing the toilettes. If we grumble and have a bad attitude about cleaning of course it’s going to be something we don’t want to do, but if we look at it as glorifying God, we then recognize it as one of God’s many blessing to us.
